It’s the small things that make the difference. Elisa Nursing Care specialise in providing a helping hand to those who need it most. We are passionate about home care and are always ready to help.

About the Elisa Team
Elisa has a wealth of experience and is deeply rooted in the care industry.

Clare Duran

Clare qualified as a nurse in 1982 at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. Caring for people in their own homes has always been one of her passions. Clare nursed a close friend, Edna Ewer in her own home. Later Clare, with her husband set up their first nursing agency in 1994. This allowed Edna’s wish to return to her own home, providing a needed live in care service.

Edna passed away on the 18th March 2010, aged 85 after living her life to the full with her husband, who was also disabled and their two live in carers. Clare is currently working on adding short term care options after working on a voluntary basis finding carers for friends.

G.Claudio Duran

Claudio was born in Chile and moved to England after marrying Clare, who had been working as a welfare missionary in Chile. In the UK he has obtained a Diploma and Masters Degree in Business Studies which he completed in 2001. Together Claudio with Clare co-founded charity projects that the company now supports. In 2008 Claudio was given an Honorary Award as a volunteer for the Chilean Red Cross for his work raising funds for a mini bus for one of their local branches.

Lorraine Elvidge

Lorraine is a healthcare professional with over twelve years experience, who started her career working in hospital administration overseeing patients complaints but realised that she wanted to work in a more caring role with elderly people.

Lorraine re-trained and has been employed as a professional carer for many years, looking after the daily needs and comforts of clients in their own homes.  Lorraine feels that health and social care is everyone’s business and there is a great need for professional carers to develop the skills and understanding necessary to work in partnership with family members to meet patient’s individual needs and ensure that people can continue to lead engaged and fulfilled lives.

At present she is studying for a degree in Health and Social Care and is particularly interested in palliative care to provide pre and post bereavement support to families in their own homes.

Sandra Parsons

I have 18 years experience in the Caring Industry. In 1993 I started working for Hertfordshire County Council as carer and was later promoted to Care Co-Ordinator within the Leonard Cheshire organisation, gaining an understanding of domiciliary care.

I was employed as the C.Q.C . Registered Manager for Westminster Homecare in Luton for 2  1/2 years but then in 2008 I decided to widen my experiences and moved to European Nursing Agency in St Albans to gain knowledge and experience regarding live in care.

I realise how important it is for people to be cared for in their own homes, keeping their dignity and independence. Our aim at Elisa Nursing Care  is to ensure a “One to One” service so that the individual’s needs are met and that good quality care is always provided.

Our Charities

The Elisa Educational Trust was founded in 2004 to raise funds to help pay for  education for poor people  in Chile.

In 2008 a nursery school was built in Chile subsequently funds were raised to provide free places for children from poorer backgrounds to improve their pre school education and experiences.

In 2010 a volunteer project was launched to provide support in the nursery school giving the children opportunities to learn English with native speakers. This has led to other service projects within the local community.
